About the project
This project is financed by EUROPEAN UNION through its Interreg-IPA Cross-border Cooperation Romania-Serbia Programme
This project is dealing with the common challenges in monitoring air pollution in the cross-border region of South Banat district and Timis county. In these two regions air pollution is not systematically monitored. The lack of data causes the lack of actions from direct users, authorities and resident population.
The overall objective of the project is to perform a pilot study on air quality by establishing a cross-border network of air monitoring systems. The project contributes to the action investment in air quality monitoring networks. Two monitoring systems will be established. A mobile real-time monitoring system and a system for sampling and analysis of PM for pollutants hazardous to health.
The main outputs we will produce in the project are established air monitoring systems, that will be used for gathering of data on air pollution in the cross-border region, a pilot action on establishing monitoring systems that will monitor all possible air pollutants and workshops and seminars on raising awareness on air pollution.
The resident population in the regions will benefit from this joint cross-border action, since we will obtain data on quality of air in the region.
Cooperation beyond borders.
Interreg-IPA Cross-border Cooperation Romania-Serbia Programme is financed by the European Union under the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA III) and co-financed by the partner states in the Programme.
